Getting Started with Moodle

Moodle is a free web application that helps educators create interactive online courses without having to know anything about web design. It makes it easy for teachers to pick and choose features, add content and create engaging courses with just a couple of mouse clicks.

Moodle is a versatile tool that allows students and teachers to work collaboratively online. It let’s students work at their own pace, and can be used to build a stand-alone course or to supplement classroom work. It’s whatever you want it to be!

Overview In this hands-on course we’ll experience Moodle through a demonstration course where you’ll create resources and activities including:

  • Resources such as: ‘Page’, ‘File’, ‘URL’ and ‘Folder’
  • Communication activities such as: ‘Forums’, ‘Blogs’ and ‘Chats
  • Collaboration activities such as: ‘Glossaries’
  • Assessment activities such as: ‘Quizzes’ and ‘Assignments’

Format
  • 1 hour online tutorial
  • 1 hour face-to-face workshop
  • 2 hour face-to-face workshop

  • 2 hours online, $75 per participant (includes a Quick Start Guide)
  • 2 hours face-to-face, $75 per participant (includes a Quick Start Guide)
